Car catches fire, causes BND10,000 loss

The Fire and Rescue Department, Operation Branch ‘G’ of Temburong District received a distress call on Sunday afternoon about a car on fire at Kampong Sibut of Temburong District.

The call was received by the Rataie Fire Station around 1.15pm.

A fire engine together with four firefighters led by ABK 1143 Gromikal were dispatched to the site of the incident. The firefighters brought the fire under control within two minutes.

The fire was believed to have originated from a fault of the car’s wires for air conditioning. The estimated loss is

about BND10,000. The Fire and Rescue Department reminded road users to maintain their vehicles and ensure that there is no leakage of flammable fluids as it can cause a fire.

Road users are also advised to ensure that any vehicle modifications to engines, electrical systems, and accessories adhere to the rules and regulations set by authorities and are installed by certified mechanics.
