The country is gearing up to host the 39th ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2020 from January 12-16.
Brunei Association of Hotels (BAH) conducted Service Excellence in Hospitality/Food Service Industry Training for food and beverage as well as hospitality from August – November 2019. This was to make sure the needs and expectations of visiting delegates, especially for Travel Exchange (Travex) are met.
“Upgrading the staff’s skill is important to the service industry. This is to ensure excellent service and quality of experience. A hundred people attended the training,” said BAH President and Operations Director of Mulia Hotel Iswandi Maaruf.
As part of their welcome, the visitors will be provided room gifts such as chocolates and fruit basket. Buses and taxi stands will be available at the hotels. Dart’s contact and information will also be provided.
“As BAH President, I hope our hotel industry will be providing the best service throughout ATF and showcase what Brunei has to offer. I am confident that we will be able to meet the expectations as hoteliers are always ready for any events,” said Iswandi.
The 39th ATF 2020 will see the country play host to about 800 tourism officials and exhibitors. ASEAN Tourism Ministers Meeting will take place at The Empire Brunei while national tourism organisations from the region will also meet in the Sultanate.
Themed ASEAN – Together Towards a Next Generation of Travel, the Travex is set to provide business-matching opportunities for suppliers of tourism products and services in ASEAN and for international buyers to meet and foster business ties.
Over 200 ASEAN exhibitors and 144 international buyers will be participating in Travex at the Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition and Conference Centre (BRIDEX) Hall in Jerudong.
