The Information Department’s Informed Community Programme serves as a platform to disseminate information on government policies discussed during briefings, dialogues and visits – particularly at grassroots level. This allows for better public understanding and appreciation of the efforts carried out by the Brunei Government to develop the country and realise the Brunei Vision 2035.
Acting Senior Information Officer Ruhil Amal Faridah binti Yahya said this in her capacity as Chairperson of the Informed Community Programme for Kampong Mumong ‘A,’ Kampong Mumong ‘B’ and Kampong Pandan ‘C’ during the programme opening at the Information Department yesterday.
She pointed out that the programme is carried out continuously across all four districts to develop an informed community, while at the same time to share on the current developments and initiatives by the government towards improving the community’s standard of living.
“It is hoped that information delivered through this programme will enhance public knowledge with regard to the roles and responsibilities of government agencies and bodies such as the Community Development Department (JAPEM) and Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB),” Ruhil Amal Faridah said.
“Alhamdulillah, as citizens of the country, we shall always express our gratitude of what we achieved today – including the social services and access, welfare and well-being of the people. This also includes education, medical and health, housing, pension and government assistance scheme.
“At the same time, the community needs to be engaged with welfare bodies and associations, religious and social activities at villages, mukims, districts and on the national level,” she added.
Information Department Acting Director Mawardi bin Haji Mohammad was the guest of honour.
A total of 43 residents from Kampong Mumong ‘A,’ Kampong Mumong ‘B’ and Kampong Pandan ‘C participated in the one-day programme.
Participants were briefed by representatives from the Information Department, MUIB, JAPEM and later they visited the Rimba Garden Central and Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
