15 million tourists visited Singapore in 2019

Singapore recorded a jump of 2.3 per cent of International Visitors Arrival amounting to 15 million from January to October 2019, compared to the same period in 2018.

However the tourism receipts saw a three per cent drop to SGD13.1 billion from January to June 2019 compared to the same period in 2018.

This was shared by Director of Communications and Marketing Capability from Singapore Tourism Terrance Voon during a presentation at the BRIDEX Hall yesterday afternoon.

Tourists from China topped the International Visitors Arrival in Singapore with some 3.1 million people while visitors from Indonesia ranked second with over 2.5 million.

He also revealed Singapore Tourism’s strategies to build quality tourism through enhancing destination attractiveness, supporting industry competitiveness, building local engagement and pursuing a yield driven marketing approach.

The upcoming attractions in Singapore include Mandal Bird Park, New Science Centre Rejuvenation of Wildlife Reserves Singapore, Completion of Integrated Mandal Precinct in 2023, Completion of Resort World Sentosa’s revamp in 2025, Jurong Lake District 2026 and Completion of Marina Bay Sands’ revamp.
