Some 40 youth, between the ages of nine and 12, concluded a three-day-two-night Summer Camp at Bintudoh Greenspring Resort yesterday.

The camp, organised by Generasi Bekarih, focussed on childhood development through character building.

The camp provided opportunities for the participants to build new friendships from different backgrounds and cultures. The participants also discovered new skills and talents.

Co-founder of Generasi Bekarih Hanis bin Osman said the participants gained experiences and values necessary for academics and life skills.

He attributed the camp’s success to the 15 youth volunteers comprising former participants.

The activities included jungle trekking, financial literacy, capacity building and appreciating local arts and creative industry through the help of partnership companies.

“We hope the activities will add value apart from their regular school curriculum,” he said.

Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Iswandy bin Ahmad presented certificates to the participants.

Brunei Summer Camp was held in conjunction with Brunei December Festival 2019. Upcoming events include the Leaders Foundation Camp at Berakas Forest Reserve from December 10-13 and Advance Leadership Camp at Bintudoh Greenspring Resort from December 17-20.
