Yang Teramat Mulia attends netball camp

Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah binti Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah participated in the School Holiday Netball Camp at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex from December 10-12.

Members from Royal Bees and the under-21 national team were involved during the camp.

The netball camp, which was an effort to increase the development of netball in the country, aimed to provide expertise, knowledge and ability to children and new players to understand and take interest in the sport.

The association in their working paper said that through sport, children will be able to build their confidence, mental endurance as well as their competency and fitness.

According to the working paper, sports is the foundation for motor development and skills. With the programme, the participants were being provided opportunities to learn new skills from coaches as well as experienced senior players.

It is hoped that the netball camp can provide a fun atmosphere with new physical activity and skills and provide opportunities to children to interact and socialise with new friends from different backgrounds and race.

Through sport, children can learn the importance in the values of honesty, teamwork and fair play.

The netball camp, among others, was also held to find players who have the potential and to be trained continuously.

Organised by the Brunei Netball Association (BNA), the camp was open to individuals aged below 21.
