Veteran scout leader bags top award in Pakistan

Prominent Brunei Darussalam veteran Scout Leader Haji Zainal Abidin bin Penghulu Haji Ibrahim was awarded ‘The Silver Camel’ top award during the Asia Pacific Evergreen Scouts (APES) and Association of Top Achievers Scouts (ATAS) in Pakistan recently.

The award was presented by Chief Commissioner of the Pakistan Boy Scout Association Sarfraz Qamar Daha.

The award is granted to dedicated scout leaders who have contributed scouting skills and services in their own country and overseas.

Haji Zainal Abidin is a former Chief Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam Scout Association (PPNBD) and his last appointment was as Vice Chairman of the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of the Asia-Pacific Region.

He also had published a book on My Scouting Pioneering and Nostalgic Collections which is well received by the scouting community in the region. Three scout associations from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan has proposed to translate his book in their languages.
