Thai envoy thanks media

The Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam hosted a media get together at its premises in appreciation of coverage to promote the strong relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand.

Guests experienced an authentic Thai food dinner served by some 10 companies.

Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul said, “This year has been eventful for Thailand with the highlights of the Royal Coronation Ceremony of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua or King Rama X, the General Election and the ASEAN Chairmanship.”

She also added the events that the embassy hosted to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Brunei such as the Thailand Grand Fair and the launching of The Guidebook of Thai Restaurants in Brunei Darussalam where Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended, as well as the Badminton Friendly Match and Coaching Session.

Media, the ambassador highlighted “is an important partner in the embassy’s work of strengthening Thailand-Brunei relations. We believe that you play an important role in promoting better understanding in every aspect particularly people-to-people relations.”

For next year, she said, “We expect 2020 to continue to be as exciting particularly for our bilateral relations as Brunei will play host to the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) which is the highest-level mechanism for bilateral consultations between Thailand and Brunei Darussalam. In this regard, we look forward to working closely with you and we seek for your continued support.”

The gathering also saw local media personnel participating in fun games. Winners of the lucky draw received prizes.
