Talk highlights qualities of an ideal leader

The exemplary leadership of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was highlighted in the pre-dawn talk held at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital yesterday.

Religious Development Officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre Haji Muskrisman Safari bin Haji Mustafa who conducted the talk said, “The duties and responsibilities of being a leader are indeed heavy and will be held to account in the hereafter.”

Among the qualities of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as a leader were sympathy and openness to the views of others, encouraging Syura’, adept in managing the equal division of responsibilities, as well as being firm and forgiving.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud and deputy permanent secretaries at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)

were present. The talk is part of the weekly Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat programme to encourage people to begin their day with prayer and spiritual reflection.
