Syabab al-Khairat programme promotes Islamic teachings

Twenty-one second year students of Usuluddin Faculty of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), in collaboration with Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and Islamic Da’wah Centre of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, organised the Syabab al-Khairat Programme at Kampong Long Mayan in the Tutong District from December 9-10.

Thirty-eight youth participants from Kampong Long Mayan, Kampong Benutan and surrounding areas participated. The programme entitled ‘One Call to Rising Ummah’ is part of the students’ effort to contribute to the community.

The programme aimed to create a culture of quality society, vibrant and healthy community and promote Islamic teachings. The programme also featured a forum entitled ‘Al-Quran, Source of Life Enlightenment’.

Acting Director of Islamic Da’wah Centre Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Kahar and Village Head of Kampong Long Mayan Muhd Eddy Suffian bin Abdullah, officials from the Islamic Da’wah Centre and academic staff from UNISSA were present. The programme was also enlivened by various activities such as religious-related quizzes and workshops.
