With a striking look and good off-road ability, the Nissan X-Trail has its own unique, stylish, clever and robust design with a sense of premium in both its exterior and interior, while also being equipped with excellent safety features and vehicle dynamics.
Members of the local media recently had the chance to see the Nissan X-Trail which currently has two variants in the Brunei market, the 2.0L 2WD and 2.0L 4WD,both use Xtronic CVT Transmission.
In terms of the exterior, it features an enlarged Nissan V-motion grille and updated headlights with a boomerang LED signature showing its elegant look that can attract those who are opting for four-wheel drive vehicle.
The 2.0L 4WD has LED head lamps with auto leveliser and front fog lamps, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels. The interior of the Nissan X-Trail is equipped with a new D-shape steering wheel, giving it a robust and premium feel, and it also has Auto A/C with Dual Zone Climate Control, sunroof, roof rail as well as a Push Start Engine Button. The seat of the 2.0L 4WD is equipped with a Spinal Support Seat made of genuine leather seat material with perforation, where both grades have a theatre seating arrangement to give better visibility and an open view for the second and third row seats.
It has best in class wide opening of rear doors and realises easy child seat setting, while the second seat space is the best in class knee room with 660mm length, and the third seat space has bigger head room and higher heel gap.
For the 4WD variant, it has exclusive features that include All Mode 4×4 i-system to provide driving pleasure on all the scenes as follows: Lock Mode is a 50 per cent front to 50 per cent Rear Torque Distribution for off-road driving; Auto Mode is an Auto Torque Distribution depending on road conditions that is suitable for wet road condition; and 2WD Mode which is 100 per cent front to zero per cent distribution that is suitable from city driving.
An around View Monitor gives a virtual 360-degree scene of the car in a bird’s eye view.
It is also equipped with a Moving Object Detection that assists drivers to avoid accidents when they start moving and parking by giving a warning on the navigation screen or warning sound.
Cruise Control, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, six airbags (two front, two side and two curtains), seat belts with pre-tensioner and load limiter as well as a strong cabin to minimise the damage are among the safety features installed in the Nissan X-Trail.
The Nissan X-Trail is installed with Active Ride Control, where it realises stress-free and comfort riding in daily driving because it reduces driver’s feeling of head shaking and the second seat passenger’s feeling of tyre vibration as well as brake control that activates on rough roads.
It also has Active Engine Brake that provides automatic speed control during cornering, less braking operation and smooth deceleration at cornering and stopping. In addition, it has Active Trace Control where it assists driver’s braking operation at corner and driver can feel stability and experience better driving skill.
