State Mufti receives foreign delegations

State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned received a courtesy call from delegates of the Indonesian Ulema Council, led by its Head of Council in Propagation and Community Development Drs Abdusshomad Buchari on Thursday.

General Treasurer Dr Nadratuzaman Hosen, Deputy General Treasurer Muhammad Yusuf Martak, Deputy Secretary-General Dr Amirsyah Tambunan and other senior officials were also present.

The courtesy call was made as part of their series of visits to Southeast Asia, aimed at enhancing understanding on Islamic propagation and modernisation in this region.

The State Mufti also received a courtesy call from 58 committee members of Pattani Islamic Religious Council from Southern Thailand, led by President Dr Haji Abdul Rahman bin Daud.

The Thai delegation was briefed on the history, functions and roles of the State Mufti’s Office and on Fatwa affairs. They also visited the Islamic Library and Book Store at the State Mufti’s Office. The Pattani delegation is in the country until today.
