Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School (SMSUA) organised a two-day parent-teacher meeting recently. The aim was to discuss issues regarding the Years 7-10 students’ academic, mental and emotional well-being as well as disciplinary issues.
With this meeting, the teachers, parents and students can work hand-in-hand to improve educational journey. The teachers and school staff also gained insights into the students’ life outside of school, which is vital in shaping the students’ development.
The school’s Career, Guidance and Counselling Unit also organised an exhibition on Mental Health Awareness with help from Health Promotion Centre, Ministry of Health (MoH). Topics covered include stress, bullying and depression.
