Students of the Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei, Kuala Belait branch had a fun-filled outing at the Times Cineplex in KB Sentral Shopping Centre recently. The day trip was made possible with the help of Business Development Manager and Head of Marketing at the Satami Group of Companies Pacoi Abdullah.
As part of SMARTER Brunei’s STEP programme, the centre organises a monthly community adaptation programme, where individuals with autism (IWAs) are taught to respond and adapt to real-world venues.
“We were all able to enjoy a nice day out with our families,” said one of the participating parents.
The students and their parents were treated to refreshments and a mascot appearance at a Sugar Bun Brunei outlet.
