School honours students for achievements

Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School (SMPAPHRSB) in Lumut recently honoured its students for their outstanding achievements in the co-curricular activity (CCA) during the CCA Awards Day.

The event saw the presentation of medals to the students who won in competitions, and also certificates for those who are representatives of the school in international competitions.

Performances were staged by the Gulingtangan Club and Music Club. Additionally, the four sport houses – Pahlawan Hijau, Perwira Merah, Panglima Ungu and Perkasa Biru – staged silat and zumba performances.

Medals were awarded to students who competed in several categories, including a Frisbee tournament for which Md Amanullah from Year 11 Awesome and Haziqah Hasnan from 11 Successful won the Most Valuable Players (male and female categories).

Siblings Awangku Muhammad Nur Rahmanruddin bin Pengiran Abdul Rahman and Dayangku Nur Amal Rashidah binti Pengiran Abdul Rahman were also awarded for securing 4th position in a 400 metres event, and bagging a silver medal in a 200 metres event at the 2019 Special Olympic World Summer Game in Abu Dhabi. The pair also won the best in SMPAPHRSB CCA for 2019.

Andy anak Gerinang from 10 Brilliant and Nurul Athilah Al Syahirah binti Madzalan from 9 Express were voted as the most outstanding Student Representative Council (MPP) of 2019, while Abdul Fawa’id @ Abdul Rahim bin Md Zefrie from 10 Perfect and Sari Nur Maisarah binti Haji Naweh were chosen as the most outstanding Peer Guidance Councellors (PRS) of 2019. Certificates were also awarded to 12 students who joined the school’s twinning programme with the Greendale Secondary School from Singapore.

Recognition was awarded to Awangku Md Rafedi Adi Hamizul bin Pengiran Nasir from 10 Successful 2 for bagging the bronze medal, Individual Poomsae in the International Taekwondo Championship 2019 in Kuching, Sarawak and also winning second place in Taekwondo at the Korea World Ambassador Cup 2019; and Naimatul Basirah binti Haji Aliuddin from Year 9 Express for being selected for the 2019 Korean Speech Contest for Secondary School and College students of Asean in Busan, Korea.

The Best CCA Club 2019 was awarded to the Hockey club, which won two tournaments this year. The event ended with a Doa Kesyukuran led by Muhd Afiq bin Roslan.
