School honours graduating students

A total of 62 students of Kindergarten 3 and Year 6 from Bright Jigsaw International School (BJIS) were feted at the 23rd annual graduation and End of Year Performance Night ceremony at Multi-Purpose Hall of Universiti Teknologi Brunei recently.

Guest of honour, member of the Legislative Council and Penghulu of Mukim Berakas ‘B’ Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon presented certificates and appreciation awards to the students.

Principal of the school Shazwani binti Haji Shahibulbahri said the school employed local graduates from both local and overseas universities as its teachers to help combat unemployment in the country. “To date 75 per cent of BJIS teachers are qualified local teachers who possess at least a Bachelor‘s Degree,” she said.

She also congratulated the graduates and the students on their results.

The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of Merit Awards to Kindergarten 1 to Year 6 students by member of Board of Directors of the school Haji Roslan bin Dato Paduka Haji Yakob, followed by the presentation of Loyalty Awards by Sitty Wardyna binti Haji Mohd Sambas.

Stage performances including drama and dancing enlivened the ceremony.

Managing Director Haji Sambas bin Haji Bagol, Board of Directors of BJIS, Suhairi bin Musa from Private Education Section, Ministry of Education as well as guests, parents and guardians of the students were also present.
