The Deputy Minister of Haj and Umrah of the Government of Saudi Arabia Dr Abdul Fattah bin Sulaiman Mashat expressed his gratitude and thanked the officials of the Brunei Darussalam (Administration and Medicine) for their efforts in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
He praised the management for maintaining good Haj management and administration ensuring the Brunei pilgrims could perform the pilgrimage properly.
Dr Abdul Fattah said this at the annual meeting of Haj Management for 1441 Hijrah between the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of Haj and Umrah of the Government of Saudi Arabia at the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, Makkah Al-Mukarramah in Saudi Arabia recently.
He added that Brunei pilgrims are disciplined and complied with the rules set by the Saudi Government and are fully focussed on performing the pilgrimage.
The Deputy Minister of Haj and Umrah of the Government of Saudi Arabia also emphasised the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Haj and Umrah in updating and improving the affairs of Haj management.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar led the Brunei delegation at the meeting. He expressed his appreciation and congratulations to the Government of Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Haj and Umrah and the relevant parties in Saudi Arabia for their management and handling and good service provided to pilgrims during the 1440 Hijrah Haj pilgrimage season.
He welcomed the commitment of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah in holding discussions and consultations on pilgrimage affairs with the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).
Also present at the meeting were Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Saudi Arabia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yusoff bin Haji Ismail; Acting Consular-General of Brunei Darussalam in Jeddah Pengiran Mohammad Salimin bin Pengiran Haji Md Daud; Acting Managing Director of Haj Affairs at the MoRA Haji Abdul Rahman bin Mat Zin; and representative from Royal Brunei Airlines Haji Abdul Nasir bin Haji Bolhasan.
After the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs along with the Deputy Minister of Haj and Umrah Saudi Arabia signed the agreement reached during the meeting. The MoRA delegation is expected to return home today.
