Brunei Darussalam’s netball team, who won bronze in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the Philippines, returned yesterday.
They were welcomed at the Brunei International Airport by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.
The contingent comprising 16 members were congratulated and presented sesandang by the minister upon their arrival.
Also present were Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Acting Director of Youth Development and Sports Zainab binti Haji Morshidi, Acting Director Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Mohd Azlan bin Pengiran Haji Tengah Omar as well as senior officers.
The Royal Bees won bronze after losing to Malaysia in the semifinal 40-64. Thailand were also joint bronze winners after losing to Singapore.
