RIPAS Mosque teams reign supreme at religious competition

The Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Mosque in collaboration with the Brunei-Muara Mosque Affairs Office hosted a nationwide Zainul Quran competition for youth and adults in the country.

Two categories were opened: Category A – for males comprising of mosque affairs officers, mosque Takmir committee members, mosque youth groups and mosque congregants; and Category B – for females comprising of Muslimah groups, Muslimah mosque youth groups and mosque congregants.

The champions in both categories were teams from RIPAS Mosque. Prizes were also awarded at the mosque yesterday.

Second place went to the RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque team (Category A), and Kampong Tanah Jambu Mosque team (Category B). Third place went to the team from Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque (Category A), and the team from Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah (Category B).

The competition aimed to uphold His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s desire to have Brunei as a Zikir Nation, deepen understanding of the song and rhythm of Zainul Quran, encourage the public to go to the mosque, and strengthen ties among participants.
