RBAF personnel feted with long service, good conduct awards

A total of 298 Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel, consisting of in-service and retired personnel, with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received medals for long service and good conduct during a ceremony held at First Battalion Parade Square, Berakas Garrison yesterday.

The award ceremony was officiated by Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, as the guest of honour.

Present during the event were RBAF services commanders, Joint Force Commander, directors, commandants, RBAF senior officers and officers.

According to a press release, the medals serve as a token of appreciation to military personnel for their meritorious service that was performed with full dedication and integrity.

The award is also an encouragement to other members of the RBAF to continue the spirit of professionalism and excellence in the military.

In a speech, the Commander of the RBAF congratulated the recipients.

The Commander of the RBAF highlighted that the awarding of the long service and good conduct medals is a great honour, and it symbolises the trust, respect and recognition of all the commitments, service and accomplishment of RBAF personnel in carrying out tasks that contribute to national peace and prosperity.
