Kemuda Institute hosted its annual Sports Festival at the Berakas Sports Complex on November 30.
Patih Tuba house emerged overall champions of the fest. Other teams were Awang Budiman, Patih Berbai and Damang Sari.
Chairman of Kemuda Institute Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Muhammad and Managing Director of Kemuda Institute Loo Mei Tim were the guests of honour.
The event began with welcoming remarks followed by the recitation of Doa lead by the Religious Affairs Officer of Kemuda Institute Student Council Mohd Amirul Zaqwan bin Haji Ali Yusof.
After the march past by all competing teams, the sports festival saw participants competing in track and field events, tug-of-war and few games including corn hole, blow flour and food on a string.
“It was an eventful festival as we get to gather everyone from both Beribi and Belait campus in one field. Even the alumni joined in to invigorate the sports festival. It was a really great way to release some tension from all the assignments and college tasks,” said Ahmad Mirza, one of the house members of Patih Tuba.
Loo Mei Tim said that Kemuda Institute strongly supports the integration of extra-curricular activities as a part of education. The Managing Director believes sports can enhance physical and social skills of students as well as assist them to be more mature and mentally developed.
An oath of sportsmanship was read by the Student Council of Sports Festival Mohammad Fitri Hafidz bin Haji Ali Yusof.
Prizes were presented by the guest of honours.
