Mini carnival winners awarded prizes

Times Square Shopping Centre concluded its 10-day mini carnival last Sunday with the awarding of prizes to winners.

Now in its 16th instalment, the event featured competitions such as ASEAN Tandem Race, Colouring Competition and the Brunei National Yoyo Contest.

Other activities included balloon popper, face painting, ring toss, ball toss and car racing machine, to name a few. The event was held in conjunction with Brunei December Festival 2019 and the school holidays.

For the ASEAN Tandem Race, Team TBS took first place, BND1000 and a trophy; while Team Gabut and Team PSH ranked in second and third places. The consolation prize went to Team Qlove and Team Takaduhung.

The best racer in the contest was Andi Suryaman from Bandung, Indonesia; while BTO 1 went to Md Zul Fakhri followed by BTO2, Yusri.

In the colouring competition for under 10 year olds, Nur Anisah binti Haji Dollah won first place, followed by Jessie Voon and Chong Yung Heng. In the under 14 year old category, Jee Jia Jia bagged top spot, followed by Shaw Wan Yi and Annie Tiong Pei Nee.

Meanwhile, the Brunei National Yoyo Contest saw Awangku Aiman winning the Single 4A Division, followed by Stuart Yong and Wafiq Missli.

Awangku Aiman also reigned supreme in the 1A Division, followed by Wafiq Masli and Aaron Chin.

In the Open Division, Han Yim from Hong Kong won first place, followed by Timothy Wong from Sabah and Aaron Chin.

In the Side Division, the ‘Eli Hop’ was won by Awangku Aiman, while Jackson Teo won ‘Long Sleeper.’ All winners took home medals and yoyo merchandise.

Times Square will also be holding a year end exhibition from December 21 to January 1.
