Management officers brush up on leadership skills

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) in cooperation with the Public Service Department (JPA) held a closing ceremony for the 28th Executive Development Programme for Middle Management Officers (EDPMMO) at UNISSA.

Rector of UNISSA Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal was the guest of honour. In his speech, he touched on qualities of leadership in Islam – Taqwa, fairness and trustworthiness – that help leaders perform their mandates and duties more efficiently.

Acting Director-General of Public Service Dr Norfarizal bin Othman was also present.

Participants were shown a video clip of activities held throughout the programme followed by a speech by a representative from the 28th EDPMMO Pengiran Haji Mashor bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim.

The three-month programme was an innovative training and development programme for middle management officers in public services.

The modules covered a broad spectrum of development – strategy, quality and value management, Islamic economics and finance, Syariah law, history and civilisation, networking, Islamic development management, world trade, technology and marketing.
