JIS students shine in online French international contest

JERUDONG International School (JIS) French Language students in Year 7 to Year 13 took part in a worldwide competition organised by Education Perfect, an online software tool to enhance knowledge of vocabulary, over the course of one week.

JIS was placed top 10 for French. When compared to schools with similar student numbers, JIS gained third position from 31 schools. When compared to other schools in Southeast Asia who competed, JIS came in third position.

Students embraced the opportunity of learning new words as well as having fun competing against their peers from other countries.

Year 10 student Sahana Rajinikanth achieved an excellent result. Prizes were awarded to the students.

At JIS, French is taught from Reception level all the way up to International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma level.

Head of European Languages at JIS Philippe Poulain said, “We are always very keen to enter our students in this annual competition as they enjoy seeing the country of Brunei up high on the scoreboard among other nations around the world. We are proud of our students’ resilience to put the name of JIS ahead of other local school in Southeast Asia and international schools around the globe, whilst increasing their knowledge of French vocabulary.”
