The credibility of mosque officers and mosque Takmir committe members is important for the efficiency of mosque financial management and the handling of mosque finances, said Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof.

The permanent secretary was addressing participants of the nationwide Mosque Fund Financial Management Workshop at the closing ceremony and certificate presentation at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah yesterday.

Commending the initiative of the Mosque Affairs Department in organising the workshop, he said, “It is a sincere effort that reflects the endeavours, concerns, commitment and awareness of the Mosque Affairs Department on the importance of responsible and first-rate administrators who can contribute with enthusiasm towards national development.

“MoRA hopes the participants involved in the workshop will carry out and apply the knowledge they have gained, in jointly achieving the objectives and mission of the Mosque Affairs Department, together with the aims of Brunei Vision 2035.

“The workshop was conducted in a more localised manner, so that it could serve as a guide and added value to the participants’ existing knowledge and skills.”

On the workshop’s content, the permanent secretary said, “I am confident that the participants were well-informed and will adhere to the rules on the implementation of mosque funds, particularly among mosque officers.

“I hope to see all weaknesses and deficiencies in the management of mosque funds overcome and properly handled,” he said.
