Officers of the Belait District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) yesterday reached out to 17 families affected by the recent floods in Kampong Sungai Mau, Jalan Kandul, Jalan Laid Lakang and Kampong Merangking Hikir at Mukim Bukit Sawat.

Personnel from the Community Development Department (JAPEM) Belait District branch, working alongside officers from the Belait District Office and Operation ‘B’ Branch of the Fire and Rescue Department in the Belait District, handed out donations in the form of basic necessities, including rice, tinned food and bottled water.

The distribution of donations is in line with efforts by the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in caring for the welfare and well-being of residents affected by natural disasters.
