The International Women’s Club of Brunei (IWCB) held a Charity International Food Fair at the Aman Lounge of Peak Performance Sdn Bhd yesterday, in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival 2019.
The event was officiated by the guests of honour – Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul; Xanthe Lindsay, the spouse of the British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam; Rosita binti Ismail, the spouse of the Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam; Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of Iran in Brunei Darussalam Afsaneh Ebrahimi; Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Executive Trustee Pengiran Datin Hajah Noraini binti Pengiran Dipa Negara Laila Diraja Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin; and IWCB President Ungku Datin Hajah Fanzah binti Haji Osman.
The event aimed to promote the development of charitable and cultural activities, foster relations among the local and expatriate communities, and provide a platform for local and international members to sell a range of food items from different countries.
It provided visitors a gastronomical experience and a chance to sample food from around the world, with proceeds channeled towards Pusat Ehsan. The embassies of Iran, Indonesia and Thailand and the Malaysian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam also participated, showcasing their native food items.
The event was also held in collaboration with Big BWN Project, allowing young local food entrepreneurs to sell their food items and contribute to charity.
