Four Brunei teams compete in bowling finals

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council attended the men’s and women’s doubles finals in the bowling event of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games at the Coronado Lanes at Starmall EDSA yesterday.

Brunei was represented by four teams with two each in the men’s and women’s division.

The male pair of Abu Khaledi Yussri bin Abu Bakar and Awangku Haziqquddin bin Shah Wardi represented Brunei 1.

Brunei 2 comprised Mohammad Faiz Dzuhairy bin Dzarfan and Muhammad Al-Amin bin Haji Abdul Hamid.

Pengiran Nadia Nabila binti Pengiran Abu Samah and Fatin Nur Ashikin binti Abu Bakar made up the Brunei 1 team while Brunei 2 team featured Siti Hawa Mardhatilah Natasya binti Haji Ahmad Rafie and Fatin Adilah binti Haji Mahadi.

Indonesia asserted their dominance in team bowling after scooping both the men’s and women’s titles.

In the men’s doubles, the pair of Billy Muhammad Islam and Hardy Rachmadian stood at the top of the podium with gold after knocking down 2,592 pinfalls while Thailand’s Atchariya Cheng and Surasak Manuwong snatched silver with 2,564 pinfalls. Malaysia’s Tun Hakim and Rafiq Ismail settled for bronze with 2,556 points.

Sharon Adelina Liman Santoso and Tannya Roumimper made it a double gold in the women’s doubles while Singapore’s duo Shayna Ng and New Hui Fen took silver. The Malaysian pair of Cheah Mei Lan and Sin Li Jane claimed bronze.
