Former SSEAYP participants visit locally owned businesses

A group of former participants of the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) 1987 visited the Sago factory at Kampong Ukong, Tutong recently.

They learnt how sago was processed and were served with the traditional popular dish of ambuyat. The locally owned factory, established in the early 80s, produced three to four tonnes of sago monthly and sold to shops and supermarkets in Tutong and Brunei-Muara districts.

The group also visited another locally owned business of crab farming using aquaculture technology system – the Berjaya Aquaculture at Kampong Telisai. It started operations last year and now supplies crabs to local restaurants and the public.
