Financial planning workshop for underprivileged families

The Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) and Projek Bina Ukhwah (PBU) co-organised a Financial Planning workshop for underprivileged families at the Lecture Room, ILIA Building, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) yesterday.

The workshop, attended by 11 participants, was facilitated by Vice President of Financial Planning Association of Brunei Darussalam (FPAB) Haji Shamsul bin Haji Muhammad.

The workshop’s objective were to raise awareness among the underprivileged on the importance of financial planning and to share with them tips in achieving a long term financial stability. The workshop covered the fundamentals of financial management, the importance of financial planning and savings.

The workshop was in-line with PBU’s Training and Education Unit’s objective to provide an inclusive knowledge platform in educating and empowering marginalised groups including the underprivileged through capacity and enhancement training session.

It was also in line with CIBFM Enrichment Programme’s objectives, which is to improve jobseekers’ marketability in the market by equipping them with practical skills and knowledge.

President of PBU Hajah Nurul Izzati Nazirah binti Haji Embran said educating the underprivileged families is an important step to help empower families to improve and better their living conditions.
