Final batch of Brunei contingent bound for Philippines

The final batch of Brunei Darussalam contingent left the country for the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the Philippines yesterday.

The contingent comprising 12 members will compete in karatedo and taekwondo. The taekwondo athletes are accompanied by three officers while nine officers are accompanying the karatedo athletes.

Acting Director of Youth and Sports Development Zainab binti Haji Morshidi bade the team farewell at the Brunei International Airport. Acting Director of Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Mohd Azlan bin Pengiran Haji Tengah Omar and other officials were also present.

Brunei Darussalam is competing in 14 sporting events at the Games – aquatics, athletics, billiards, fencing, football, golf, karatedo, lawn bowling, netball, pencak silat, polo, taekwondo, tenpin bowling and wushu.
