Learning Ladders Society, a non-profit organisation that helps children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) received BND3,587 during a donation handover ceremony at the Learning Ladders Society’s premises in Jalan Gadong yesterday.
The fund was raised by participants of the Varsity Cycle 6.0 event held on September 22. The charity cycling event was organised in conjunction with the 73rd birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Dr Hajah Noor Maya binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, and Acting Assistant Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Datin Dr Hajah Noor Hira binti Haji Noor Kaseh presented the donation to President and Co-Founder of Learning Ladders Society Dr Sharina binti Haji Yunus. UBD, UTB, UNISSA and KUPU SB officials witnessed the event.
Dr Haji Norarfan hoped that the donation will benefit Learning Ladders Society.
Dr Sharina conveyed her gratitude and revealed that Learning Ladders Society has reached its 10th years anniversary last November and has managed to help 50 children from as young as two years old.
