Delayed payment status needs to be investigated

We refer to the letter ‘Hard to survive without payment for work done’ by SAMS – KIULAP, published in the Opinion page of the Borneo Bulletin on December 4.

We at the Ministry of Development (MoD) have taken note of the issue you have raised in the Opinion page pertaining to the delay in the payments for your works and services for the completed government building projects throughout 2012 to 2016.

We need to carry out our investigation on the status of both, the projects to your delayed payments and your delayed payments, before we can devise ways to resolve the issue. We request you to contact us at 2382922 (the office of the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate & Legal).

We also like to reiterate that the Ministry of Development appreciates the roles and contributions of all consultants, contractors and those involved in the construction industry, including the small and medium enterprises.
