DBP Family Day Carnival strengthens ties

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin launched the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) Family Day Carnival at its premise in Old Airport, Berakas on Saturday.

The ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah. It continued with the launching ceremony officiated by the guest of honour followed by an aerobic session and fun run. The event also saw the launching of rebranding of DBP’s website by the guest of honour. The minister also toured the exhibitions and fun games. Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Cultural) at the MCYS Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Heads of Department under the ministry and senior officers were also present.

The carnival acts as a platform towards encouraging and strengthening relationships among the DBP staff, family members and visitors.

The three-day programme, which started in Friday, is also a platform for the DBP staff to spend time with their family members with fun activities during this school holiday as well as to provide opportunities and support to local vendors.

Exhibition and sales by Koperasi Serbaguna DBP Berhad, Kekcisbyna, Burgergar.bn, Dapur Opah Limah, Erosalong Enterprise, Stop Lok Go, Pyorr Brunei, Sulmas dan Anak-Anak, DBP Marketing Unit, Health Promotion Centre, Blood Bank Unit, dBookHaus, Marleina Enterprise, Mind Plus Education, Kamelia Alene Enterprise, Ummu Iman, Wee Tuck Trading Company, Realmed Biotech and Cuckoo International (B) Sdn Bhd were also held. A number of games and fun activities were also carried out during the event organised by Cityneon Company including trampoline, cats and birds show, and cycling.
