The Minda Youth Movement organised a donation collection drive named Projek Minda Prihatin in conjunction with the Day of Action (DoA) starting on December 17.

Organised with the support of the Youth and Sport Department Belait District branch, the project was conducted to help collect basic food necessities to be distributed to those in need, in particular the families affected by floods especially in the rural areas of the district.

Vice President of the Minda Youth Movement Haji Abdul Afiq bin Zainuddin said among the items collected included rice, cooking oil, dry food, canned food, salt and sugar, as well as bread and biscuits.

“The food donation will be distributed among the underprivileged in Kampong Bukit Sawat and Kampong Merangking. The drive will hopefully raise awareness and inspire volunteerism among youth of the nation,” he said.

Members of the public who wish to contribute can visit the Belait Youth Centre beside Chung Hua Middle School, Kuala Belait; along Jalan Bunga Rambai, Kuala Belait; from 9am to noon, and from 2pm to 5pm until December 21.

Members of Minda Youth Movement will distribute and hand over the donations next week at Kampong Bukit Sawat Community Hall, Belait District.
