A total of 134 kilogrammes of trash was collected during a beach cleaning campaign at the Lumut Beach and its surrounding areas on December 19 participated by over 35 Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (BMC) employees.

The clean-up campaign was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to promote environmental conservation and instil the spirit of volunteerism.

Earlier, a briefing on safety was delivered by representatives from Beach Bunch, a local non-government organisation (NGO), followed by a warming up session before proceeding to the beach-front.

BMC Chief Executive Officer Kaneshige Kubushiro along with general manager and head of departments were present. The company plans to conduct similar campaigns annually to help clean the surrounding area of the beaches in the district and foster closer relationships.
