Brunei Darussalam notched another milestone after being represented by Butra Heidelberg Cement Sdn Bhd at the prestigious 2nd ASEAN Mineral Award (AMA), held in collaboration and support of the ASEAN Mineral Cooperation Action Plan (AMCAP).
The event – held in conjunction with the 19th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting (ASOMM), 12th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting +3 (ASOMM+3) – was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Development at the Pullman Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand from December 11-13.
Six categories were contested – Metallic/Non-Metallic Mining, Metallic/Non-Metallic Mining Processing and Metallic/Non-Metallic Mining Distribution.
Out of all the companies across ASEAN member states that participated, only 14 were shortlisted, vying for first places and runner ups position in each category. Butra took runner-up position in the Non-Mineral Mining Distribution category. Participation in the competition shows Brunei Darussalam’s commitment towards the ASEAN agenda, particularly in the minerals sector.
The winners were awarded during the Gala Night Dinner on December 13, consecutive of the 7th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Mineral (AMMin).
