Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) and Taiyo Oil Co Ltd celebrated their 50 years of business relationship at The Empire Brunei yesterday.
The event was attended by Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Ministry of Energy Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, BSP Managing Director Dr Ceri Powell, and President and CEO of Taiyo Oil Yutaka Oka.
Also present were Farida Dato Talib, BSP’s Commercial Director; Koichiro Sakamoto, Senior Vice President; and Yasuhiro Funaki, General Manager of International Trading and Shipping of Taiyo Oil.
Dr Powell and Yutaka Oka presented each other with a token of appreciation to commemorate the milestone.
The ceremony highlighted Taiyo Oil as one of BSP’s longest-standing customers and an important partner to Brunei.
Both companies acknowledged the cooperation between each other for the past 50 years and committed to uphold this strong bond of collaboration and partnership. BSP has supplied Bruneian crude oil to Taiyo Oil, one of Japan’s most prominent downstream refiners over the last half-century.
