Guest of honour, Acting Belait District Officer Abdol Hazis bin Haji Ahad flagged off the participants at the surrounding areas of Menara Cendera Kenangan, Kuala Belait.

Patron of PKTLB Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Chuchu, and Senior Officer of the Forestry Department Joffre bin Haji Ali were present.

Representative of the Chairman of the PKTLB Mohammad Azmi bin Milami said the 2nd Offroad Challenge was organised in conjunction with Brunei December Festival 2019 and supported by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.

“Nine teams will be competing in the Amateur Challenge category, accompanied by 15 support vehicles, while 14 vehicles will compete in the Expedition Tag-On category,” he said.

The challeng aimed to forge closer relationship between fans and enthusiasts of 4WD vehicles across the country and beyond, and to promote the extreme motor-sport activity in the country, he added.

Before the flag off, the guest of honour toured the vehicles and mingled with the participants.

The challenge will bring the participants to the interior of Belait District including Kampong Biadong, Kampong Sukang and Kampong Melilas to test their driving skills in various terrains for four days until December 18.
