Brunei martial artists win three golds, one silver in Labuan

Four athletes from Brunei’s Chainblock Gym won three gold and a silver medal at the Pro K1 and Armature K1 categories at the BMAEX championship in Labuan.

In the light middleweight below 71kg of Armature K1 category, Haji Md Ariez bin Haji Mat Yassin defeated Malaysia’s Chan Tai Sen to take the championship. While in the cruiser weight below 86kg, Md Shahlimin bin Abdul Salim overcame Kingsley Tan Yoon Keong of STT Malaysia to bring home the gold medal.

In the welter weight below 67kg Fairul Rizal bin Hashim collected Chainblock’s third gold medal after winning against Ivan Tan Wei Sheng from Tomoi Labuan in the final.

The silver medal came from Abdul Rahman bin Haji Bujang Ahmad after losing to Hisyam Samsudin from Ewake MMA Malaysia in the Pro K1 Category.

B-MAEX is a platform where for the first time in Malaysia, martial artists from different branches and backgrounds came together to demonstrate their talents and skills to the public.

B-MAEX was organised by the Labuan Wushu Association, Labuan Sport Kickboxing Association and Borneo Combat Gym in collaboration with Labuan Media Association and sanctioned by the International Sport Kickboxing Association Borneo.
