Brunei contingent returns from SSEAYP adventure

The Brunei delegation that attended the 45th Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) arrived home from a 50-day goodwill visit to ASEAN member states yesterday.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Youth and Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said welcomed the 29-member contingent. Parents, family members as well as SSEAYP alumni were present to welcome the contingent.

Fully funded by the Japanese Government, the Brunei contingent – led by Shahminan bin Haji Md Yasin – joined 330 youth from 11 countries on the Nippon Maru Ship, with port of calls in Brunei, Manila (the Philippines), Bangkok (Thailand), Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) and Tokyo (Japan). Participants also took part in homestays and study visits.
