84 youth complete Self-Development Programme

The Youth Development Centre through its Self-Development Programme held a passing out parade for its 84 trainees of July 2019-2020 session at the centre on December 9.

Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud was the guest of honour. Senior officers, guests from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and representatives from Asnaf Zakat Programme Empowerment (PROPAZ) were also present.

Twenty outstanding trainees received certificates and awards.

Trainees Abdul Mushawwir @ Asrul bin Haji Kamis and Azureen binti Mohd Nordin were named the Best Overall Programme Trainees.

The event aimed to instil teamwork, self-identity, competitiveness and confidence as well as inculcate self-development and responsibilities. It also served to instil patriotic spirit and encourage trainees to be active. Six courses were opened for this session – Information, Technology and Communication (ITC), Culinary and Banquet (CAB), Pastry and Confectionary (PNC), Fashion Design Technology (FDT), Welding and Fabrication (KKF) and Vehicle Body Repair (KBPK).

The event also saw the presentation of souvenirs to 15 members of the executive committee of the Trainees Council Committee.
