150 bags of waste collected at cleaning campaign

Over 80 people participated in the clean-up campaign at Seri Kenangan Beach last Sunday in conjunction with the ‘Day of Action’ for International Volunteer Day 2019, where 150 bags of waste and debris were collected.

The event was organised by the Kampong Sengkarai Village Consultative Council, with the joint support of the Tutong District Youth Community and the village consultative councils of Tutong District.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan was the guest of honour.

Acting Village Head of Kampong Sengkarai Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan said, “Participating in volunteering activities can instil a sense of unity and teamwork within the community, especially among youth.”

The permanent secretary joined the volunteers in the clean-up along the beach.

Acting Director of Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Mohd Azlan bin Pengiran Haji Tengah Omar and the Acting Head of Youth and Sports in Tutong District Md Adi Shariwan bin Haji Aji also participated.
