The Youth Development Centre (PPB) awarded certificates to 143 students during the 20th convocation ceremony yesterday, reaffirming its commitment to strengthen the socio-economic development of local youth.
Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud presented the certificates.
The recipients were 89 students from 13 courses (January 2018 session), and 76 who pursued training in five short-courses this year.
The January 2018 sessions included 2D Computer Aided Design, Diploma in Accident Repair Body, Information Technology User, Diploma in Food Preparation and Cooking, Food and Beverage Services, Engineering (Fabrication and Welding), Food Preparation, Food and Beverage Services, Plumbing, Computer Aided Design (Belait branch), Information and Communication Technology, Fashion Design and Technology and Beauty Therapy.
Meanwhile, the short-courses included programme for individuals with Different Abilities (OKU), agriculture, bridal make-up and grooming, bridal services, and tailoring in fashion design and technology – a collaboration with the RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau Village Consultative Council.
Hazwan bin Suhaini from the Fashion Design and Technology Course bagged the Best Student Award. Hazwan launched his own brand last October under the name Gentleman Stitch, specialising in tailored-made gentlemen’s wear and ready-to-wear clothing.
