Students celebrated in Khatam Al-Quran ceremonies

A Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was held for 65 students from private schools in the Belait District.

The students were from St Angela’s School, Chung Ching Middle School, St Margaret’s School, Chung Hua Middle School, St John‘s School and St James’ School.

Head of Religious Officer in the Belait District Aliyani bin Haji Ismail was the guest of honour. The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.

After completing their recitation of the verses from Al-Quran, they continued by reading Surah Lazim and Doa Khatam.

To commemorate the event, a Dikir Marhaban was conducted by students from Belait Arabic School. The ceremony concluded with a presentation of certificates of participation and sprinkling of scented oil as well as the recitation of Doa Selamat.

Elsewhere, 284 Pre-U2 students of Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School were feted in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony.

Assistant Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Dr Arman bin Haji Asmad was the guest of honour.

The ceremony was organised by the Spiritual Unit, Co-Curriculum Division and Al-Quran, Al-Hadith and Amali Department.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour, followed by the recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuhaa to Surah Al-Masad by Khatam participants while Takhtim and Dikir Marhaban was read by Syababul Quran students.

The Doa Khatam was read by Ahmad Fadhillah bin Haji Jadid. The event concluded with a recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan and Negara Brunei Darussalam.

The ceremony also saw the sprinkling of scented oil and presentation of certificates by the guest of honour.
