Motohead ‘B’ emerged winners of the Bikers Futsal 2019 after they defeated Pemoda ‘B’ in the final 4-3 in penalties at the Arbisyam Futsal Court in Kampong Keriam, Tutong recently.

Mad Riders ‘A’ settled for third place after they emerged 2-1 winners in the play-off against Wings Motor Gang Society (WMGS) ‘B’, who finished fourth.

Motohead ‘B’, who drew 3-3 with Pemoda ‘B’ in normal time, were pleased to get over the line adding that the mini tournament served as a platform to foster closer ties among clubs in the biking community.

“We are very delighted to win the tournament but the whole idea behind the competition is to deepen our ties having shared the same passion in biking,” said a Motohead ‘B’ representative.

Speaking about the final, he said, “It was a very good battle between two teams determined to get the victory. The month-long break in between the knock-out stages and final also gave us ample time to discuss tactics and how to approach our game in the final with a strong mentality.”

He further added, “Both of us gave our best in the game but unfortunately one of us could only win. Alhamdulillah, it was us but credit to both teams for showcasing an entertaining final.”

Organised by the WMGS Brunei, the tournament represented a good initiative from the organisation to involve local biking clubs to partake in sporting activities as well as to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

The WMGS said the tournament brought a positive response among the biking groups in Brunei.

With the tournament having initially kicked off last month at the Mumong Sports Complex, the field was trimmed to four teams from the original 12 during the knock-out stages.
