The Mosque Affairs Department, through its Idarah Section, continued its Fund Financial Management Workshop for mosques, suraus and religious halls at Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Wakeel, Mukim Kiudang in Tutong yesterday.
Participants comprised mosque officials and members of the mosque committee who held the office of chairman, treasurer, assistant treasurer and book-keeper as well as handling the financial affairs of the mosque fund in mosques, suraus and religious halls in the Tutong District.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a welcome speech by Acting Director of Mosque Affairs Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri.
A briefing on the financial rules of the mosque fund was presented by Special Mosque Affairs Grade Officer Haji Asminan bin Haji Chuchu, while a briefing on the Financial Management and Procedures was presented by Assistant First Grade Officer Mohammad Jamaluddin bin Haji Jaya. The workshop aimed to provide the knowledge on financial regulations implemented in Brunei, especially the Regulations on the Implementation of Financial Regulations of Brunei Darussalam Mosques 1408/1988 and the Rules of Management and Administration of Mosque Cash, 2012.
The workshop also aimed to streamline rules, improve procedures, forms and best practices as well as increase the importance and awareness of the financial statements preparation.
