Two Thai siblings were recently jailed for hosting prostitution services at their rented house.

Magistrate Pengiran Hazirah binti Pengiran Haji Mohd Yusof sentenced Pannipa Suksorn to three years and six months’ imprisonment, along with a fine of BND800 or a month’s imprisonment in default.

Her brother, Somchai Suksorn, received a prison sentence of 21 months. After the trial, the Magistrate’s findings on Deputy Public Prosecutor Amiriah binti Haji Ali’s case against the siblings is that from February to March this year, they had taken in 11 Thai women aged between 35 and 43 at their rented house in Kampong Kianggeh; and that they had pimped the women for prostitution.

The siblings had also lived wholly or in part on the earnings from the 11 women’s prostitution services.

During a police raid on the Kianggeh house last April, it was also found that Pannipa’s social visit pass had expired in March 2017.
