International School Brunei (ISB) yesterday hosted its annual International Day celebration yesterday to celebrate the diversity of various nations.
Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman joined the event.
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman, the children of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office were also present.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Raqiib bin Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Haseeb bin Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim, the grandchildren of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam also joined the event.
This was the school’s 27th celebration of the International Day in its 57-year history.
The event celebrated the diversity of cultures, nationalities, and languages of the school body, with 45 nations represented by ISB students and staff.
Students, staff, parents and family members showed up for the activities present throughout the day, wearing colourful national costumes, while the school was decorated with the flags of different nations across the world.
The main highlight was a ‘Parade of Nations’ where representatives from different countries present at ISB formed a procession into the hall. Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah was part of the parade representing Brunei.
The celebration also showcased various cultural performances by students representing the different year groups including Colombia, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, the Philippines, Scotland and South Africa.
