Rotary Club BSB members, friends band together to spruce up Meragang Beach

The Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan (Rotary Club BSB) organised its third Beach Cleaning Project at Meragang Beach last Sunday.

The project started one year ago and so far has collected almost 1,000kg of rubbish.

Organisation Chair and Immediate Past President Klaus Tomalla, who started the beach cleaning project with club members, said, “It’s good to see that the beach gets cleaner and the environmental awareness of the people in Brunei Darussalam is increasing.”

This time, in addition to the collection of rubbish, members and friends of the Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan gathered driftwood to one spot and cut it into small pieces to clean Meragang Beach from sand flies.

Later, members and friends enjoyed a barbeque and a relaxing evening at the beach.
